Just to mention. When you wash your hair with Smooth Down, one thing that you have to make sure of. Wet your hair properly. It will help to release the ingredients of the shampoo. If your hair does not lather well, add water before you add more shampoo. This will help to get a good rich lather going. If you still find that you need more shampoo then go ahead and add more shampoo.Use what you need.
Always shampoo twice. The first shampoo helps to break the surface tension of the water enabling the hair to wet properly.Rinse out and shampoo again.
Always rinse all of the shampoo out of your hair.Move the hair around making sure the water goes through to the scalp aswell. Then, make sure you get the shampoo rinsed right out of the hair at the midlengths and ends too.If there is still shampoo in the hair it will block the conditioner and you won't get the full benefit of the conditioning.
Redken Smooth Down is an instant conditioner,so no need to leave it on.Just apply, comb through, but quite thoroughly, and rinse out.
Now remember that the Conditioning cream is only a surface coating on the hair,so if you put the surface coating on...and then rinse the coating all off again, you're kind of defeating the object. So when you rinse the conditioner, leave a little in.Don't rinse and rinse and rinse.Just a light rinse will be ok.
As you're rinsing, the hair should start to lose that 'creamy' feel. Then as the hair begins to feel like hair, and before it feels hard and tacky, stop rinsing. The hair should still feel soft and reasonably easy to comb.
Tip: If you've rinsed too much out and your feels hard and difficult to comb after you've towel dried, just add a small amount of conditioner from midlengths to ends and leave in.Not too much so as to make the hair stringy.Comb again. It should feel good.Or else get some Redken Smooth Down Detangling Cream 8.5 oz.
